Ted’s Montana Grill: My new “Margarita Go-To” at Easton!

Ted’s Montana Grill: My new “Margarita Go-To” at Easton!

It’s funny, considering how I’ve lived in Ohio for my whole 26 years but I still VERY much throw a fit when the weather is nasty. When there’s an 80% chance of rain you can just about bet that my chances of leaving the house that night are way, waaay lower than 80%.

More recently than not, I’ve come to the realization that if I abide by those standards all the time, I’ll basically never be leaving my house because Ohio weather almost always stinks. LOL. So I’ve started to find a few “hacks” to keep my socially-motivated self.. well.. motivated to stay social!

One of my latest and favoritest (not a word, I know) hacks is finding places to go out to dinner that are EASY to get to. There’s nothing worse than trekking 9 blocks down High Street in the sleet and slush because there were absolutely zero parking spots anywhere near your dinner spot. Drives me nuts! Recently I’ve been hitting up Easton a lot more frequently because the parking lots are a plenty and there are SO many new and poppin restaurants and bars to check out.

And in comes Ted’s Montana Grill!

While I have been to Ted’s in the past (shout out to the Arena District location for being so close to my office!) it’s been quite awhile since I’ve stopped in and I was in love with the changes they’ve made to their decor and menu.

I was really impressed by their margaritas (PS HAPPY MARGARITA DAY IN 4 DAYS), as our server explained that all of their ingredients are made in house. I could totally taste the fresh components of my Huckleberry margarita. There’s a spicy version of this marg and I’m 2000% ordering it next time I come in.

Love me a salty rim!

With the upcoming Lent season, I always try to remind myself to keep venturing into the world of seafood (and I’m hardly ever disappointed). We tried the shrimp appetizer (the bread is to freaking DIE for) and some crab cakes.

Hint: You can get the crab cakes as an app OR an entree. Want one to yourself? Order the entree as your appetizer to split between 3-4 people!

Okay; we’re finally here. Entrees! Bison is Ted’s Montana Grill’s bread and butter – they use locally sourced meat that are free of antibiotics and added hormones. Did you know that bison has more protein and less fat than regular ground beef? More importantly- it’s JUICY. If you’re curious about trying bison, your server at Ted’s will be more than happy to bring over a sample for you to try.

And my sample turned into ordering…..

THIS.

Omg. If you head to Ted’s with a burger in mind, you’ve gotta order the Avalon. Melts Gruyere cheese, sweet and salty bacon-caramelized onions, blue cheese, garlic aioli and baby arugula make for the perfect explosion of flavor in every bite. No dry bites of beef here, bison is as juicy as they come. Have I mentioned how juicy bison is???

Okay. Moving on.

Last but not least, I was impressed at how much time and effort the team at Ted’s has put into the seafood section of their entree offering. You have choices between items as simple as a fish sandwich or salmon burger, or as ~fancy~ as Cedar Plank Salmon or the crab cakes I mentioned earlier. We tried the Salt-and-Pepper Trout which was crisply roasted and covered in a mix of roasted corn and tomatoes to give every bite a little extra texture.

The next time you’re feeling a little deterred by Ohio’s tumultuously crazy weather, Easton is the perfect place to venture out to a new restaurant. Ted’s is great for a quick work lunch or a girls happy hour, just don’t forget to order the Huckleberry Margarita! Cheers!
