Make the Easiest Cheese Board with a Platterful Charcuterie Kit

When Platterful reached out to me about sending one of their charcuterie kits as a gift, I was so excited to try one and to have an easy and fast solution to a delicious appetizer (or meal LOL) for when I host guests. As most of you know, I recently had our first baby, so I’m all about “quick and easy” these days but don’t want the quality of my served appetizers to suffer. Insert: Platterful’s Charcuterie Kits!

The content of Platterful’s charcuterie kit came well packaged, with the perishable items (hello, cheese!!) tucked inside a dry ice container and the rest were outside the dry ice.

Platterful Charcuterie Kit Contents

I LOVED the array of items within Platterful’s charcuterie kit, many things were items I’d never pick out at the store myself (I’ve actually never put chocolate on a cheese board before, but we loved the sweet addition). There was just enough of each item too, like the olives in a bag (2 bags came with the kit). I loved these!

As you can see on the card that came in the kit (image above), Platterful does a great job of explaining each product that comes in the kit and how to display it on your board. It’s been awhile since I’ve made a ~salami river~ so their scannable QR code made it easy to pull up a quick how-to video while I was compiling.

The quality and diversity of the products in Platterful’s charcuterie kit was also impressive – I’m a huge fan of Vermont Goat Cheese so I was excited to see a familiar favorite! Peppercorn Garlic Gouda cheese was one of those products that I likely would not have picked out myself at the store (tbh I would’ve gone for a more basic and boring gouda flavor) so this was a pleasant surprise to push me out of my comfort zone and we had fun trying something new.

Speaking of trying new things… This Wilder Truffle Mustard was SO fun to try (my later photos will show how I displayed it on the board) and this jar was big enough that we had leftovers, so we’ve been dipping all sorts of things into it during the week to use it up. The best part of charcuterie boards is the leftovers for weekday snacking, of course!!

I just had to include a photo of these fun little extras. Again, things I wouldn’t have had if I was making a board without a kit and they were the cutest little touch. You’ll see in my “finished” photos that I used both of the bowls for my olives, and the honey dipper was perfect to layer a drizzle of honey on our bites.

Platterful Charcuterie Kit Assembly

Here’s one of my charcuterie board assembly pro-tips: prepare your meat and cheese before putting ANYTHING on your final board! This means getting your meats out of the packages and slicing or crumbling your cheese. This will help you to envision what shapes and sizes you want you have and how to arrange them in the prettiest way. You can see here that I made a salami river with my salami, cut my other meat into rounds, and did my best to slice up the variety of cheeses into different ways. The key to any pretty charcuterie board is to get as many shares, sizes, and colors on there as possible.

Platterful Charcuterie Kit: Finished Product

TADA!

The planning ahead with meats and cheese really allowed me to be playful in my final presentation. Platterful did a great job of including different colors in their kit, so that made it easy to pick a neutral marble board so that the colors could shine. You can see that I also ended up deciding to make a salami rose since I had enough meat leftover from the kit. I used both of the disposable bowls for my olives so that they didn’t roll around during transportation (from my kitchen to the patio LOL) so I just spread the mustard straight onto the board (left middle) and I loved out it turned out!

My absolute favorite product that was new to me from the Platterful Charcuterie Kit was the Fig Spread (upper lefthand corner). We absolutely DEMOLISHED the jar with crackers and goat cheese and I’ve already started scouting my local grocery store for more.

The Platterful Charcuterie Kit gifted to me was a $125 value and you can find different sizes and arrangements for delivery on their website HERE.
